Hello IT-friends!

I need some advice for replacement of my desktop mobo.
Currently I have an MSI P35-Neo with a Intel Q6600 processor.
Unfortunately the motherboard decided to give up on me….
It is almost 4 years old, so time to replace it!

I prefer to keep my case and my HDD’s which are mainly on SATA. I now also have an 400W power supply.
There’s also a Nvidia GeForce GT8600 (PCI).
I’ve been looking around but I’m not up to date about the latest processors and mobo’s , so who can give some advice?

I don’t use my desktop that much tbh, it is mainly for some office stuff (pictures, music, etc…), sometimes a little bit of gaming, but I have my notebook for that now.
I think I would like to set it up as a test device (with VMWare ESXi for example) or a file server.

So what I need is :
- Motherboard
- CPU
- RAM

The holidays were busy and due to some decisions I didn’t had the time anymore to keep up. time really flies …

It looks like Belgium finaly might get a government…
At time of writing, we currently have 538 days no government and a few days ago the government agreement was made.
From what we hear in the media it is all bad, unions already had a demonstration against it.

Not that is probably would make any difference, but what is your personal opinion on the Belgian political situation?

I Like music a lot, in different genres.
